Ode to Le Crêt de Bine, Première Cuvée 2026 Winemaker Florence Subrin shares with us some very complementary tasting notes from Alain Segel, sommelier and lecturer in Paris. He found a lot to wax poetic about their Première Cuvée 2026. Florence suggested that I edit it down. It does go on. But I just couldn’t, it was all so delicious in words. It’s an exuberant and fun description. Get ready to swoon! “A beautiful, deep red hue, reminiscent of a rich carmine-cardinal ruby, possessing a lovely radiance and consistent quality, with excellent clarity and tone. The texture is smooth and inviting, evoking a sense of pure indulgence. On the nose, there are exquisite aromas of high-quality grape juice, with subtle hints of both flowers and spice. A delicate, warming quality emerges, underscored by the enticing, mellow essence of juniper berries—a truly delightful treat! On the palate, it feels exceptionally pleasant, with a fine, fleshy, and pleasantly rounded texture. The first taste is refined and deliciously gourmet, featuring a subtle, delightful touch of carbonation—typical of a vin nouveau—which breathes life into this excellent juice, crafted in the true spirit of Beaujolais. While it is indeed a vin nouveau, it is, above all, a fine expression of an exquisite nectar—one destined to evolve with grace and elegance. The palate offers rich, fruity sensations that will develop into charming, nuanced notes. The tannins are understated and well-integrated, adding a savory, indulgent quality. Perfect for a casual snack or a hearty, informal meal at any time of day. Serve slightly cool—around 14–15°C (57–59°F), straight from the cellar—alongside a fine pâté en croûte or a savory pie filled with dark fruits and wild forest mushrooms…”
